Original plastic windows were made from from a material called PVC (poly vinyl chloride) but were soon changed as people discovered that this material was prone to damage from ultra violet rays from the sun causing them to discolor and fade.
So an unplastisizing substance was added to help stop these issues, giving us the name uPVC Windows Oxted (unplastisized poly vinyl chloride).
There are a lot of reasons to put in windows made from uPVC while looking at modernising or improving energy efficiency in a home. The fact that they’re weather tight is a leading factor. Double Glazed uPVC Windows Oxted are made of a membrane between two sheets of glass. This protects against heat loss saving you a vast amount of money on your heating bills every year.
See examples of uPVC Windows Oxted we have installed in our photo gallery.
